Cedars to fill president’s seat
In a unanimous vote at a special meeting of the St. Martin Parish Council on Tuesday, Jan. 23,
long time parish legal adviser Chester Cedars was appointed interim president. He will take the seat when it is vacated by outgoing president Guy Cormier on March 2.
He will serve in the office until a permanent replacement is selected in the election scheduled for Nov. 6.
Cormier, after serving as president for 12 years, will quit the position to become the director of Legislative and Governmental Affairs for the Police Jury Association of Louisiana.
