Nancy C. Patin

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service was held on Jan. 19, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Nancy Champagne Patin, 85, who died on Jan. 12, 2024.

She is survived by her sons, Jorge Diaz and Bill Diaz; daughter, Judy Patin; sister, Nellie Webb; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pellerin Funeral Home, was in charge of arrangements.

Johnny ‘Grumpy’ Guidry

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Johnny “Grumpy” Guidry, 80, who passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at his residence.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. 

A rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m. on Thursday. 

Deacon Dennis Landry will officiate at the Funeral Service. Reader will be Paget Guidry.

Susan Bernard Latiolais

St. Martinville – Private memorial services will be held at a later date for Susan Bernard Latiolais, age 68. Susan peacefully passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Susan was a dedicated workaholic who held the title and trade of an electrician. She found joy in the outdoors, indulging in her love for gardening. Above all, Susan cherished spending time with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.

Gwenn LaViolette

Port Allen – Gwenn LaViolette, age 58, a self-described “poor Cajun girl from the swamp” passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, January 5, 2024.  

Gwenn, born in St. Martinville, Louisiana, lived a life of joy, adventure, and service to others.  Gwenn rejoiced in her Cajun heritage, had a deep understanding of Acadian history, enjoyed Cajun cooking, dancing the two-step, and eating boiled crawfish.

Felix (Peco) Castille and Elsie Hollier Castille

Breaux Bridge – Felix (Peco) Castille and Elsie Hollier Castille were life long residents of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Peco passed away on November 8, 2023; Elsie passed away on January 10, 2024. Both died peacefully at home as per their wishes. Both were 93 years old and donated their bodies to the LSU School of Medicine.

Peco was born on February 16, 1930, to Valsin and Martha Landry Castille. Elsie was born on September 2, 1930, to John K. and Elizabeth Ducrest Hollier. She is survived by her twin brother Elwood Hollier.
