Lillian Castille
Lillian Castille
Lillian “Mama Lil” Castille lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. She was the person you could always count on for a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm hug. Her smile was contagious, her laughter unforgettable, and her heart always had room for one more. She treasured her family, cherished lifelong friendships, and was a loyal friend and confidant to so many. Known lovingly as Mama Lil, Aunt Lil, and Loretta by countless nieces, nephews, and extended family, she never let a day pass without reminding those she loved that they mattered.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Pourciaux Castille and Leon Castille; her cousin, Edith Castille; and her brothers-inlaw, Stanley Babin and Dennis Barras.
She is survived by her son, Eric Castille; her sisters, Louella C. Babin and Leona C. Barras; her brother, Charles “Poncho” Ram; her nieces, Terry Latiolais and Mandy Barras; her great-nephew, Gary Price; her great-uncle, Ames Castille; and countless beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
To know Lillian was to know unconditional love. She gave freely of herself without ever asking for anything in return, making every person she met feel welcomed, valued, and loved. The world feels a little quieter without her laughter, a little dimmer without her smile, and our hearts are forever changed by her absence. While her family grieves the immeasurable loss of someone so deeply cherished, they find comfort in knowing that the love she poured into others will continue to live on through every life she touched. Though she is no longer with us, the kindness she gave so effortlessly and the love she shared so abundantly will never fade.
