Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 4, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Bernard Junior Alexander, 58, who passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019.
Interment followed at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia.
Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Breaux Bridge Pentecostal Church for Jane Ortego, 75, who passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Louella Johnson Lewis, 79, who passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020.
Visiting hours will be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Lewis; brothers, Calvin and Robert Johnson; sister, Mrs. Zervin (Lucille) Mallery; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Cherie Ann Alexandrescu, 50, who passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Visiting hours were observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continued on Thursday from 7 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
A rosary was be prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Breaux Bridge – Roland Mozard “Rolie” Hebert, descendant of the original settlers of St. Martin Parish, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 13, 2019.
He was born on April 10, 1936, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, where his parents Ada and Lucien Hebert had moved after the great flood of 1927 with their children. His mother and father deliberately chose a house near the church and school, determined their children would retain the best possible education.
