St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Murphy L. Simon, Jr., who departed this life on January 23, 2026, at the age of 87.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Marie Leon Simon; his children, Clarissa Ambrose, Allison Boudreaux), Brian Filer William, Leon Murray Simon, Latoya Simon- Antoine and Kylie Simon- Price and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, Leroy Simon; Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
