Roderick “Pee Wee” Frederick, a native of Arnaudville and longtime resident of Breaux Bridge, lived a life rooted in faith, family, and the land God entrusted to him. A veteran of the military, he proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Pee Wee was a farmer through and through. From raising cattle and baling hay to working the soil from sunup to sundown, he found peace and purpose in caring for the land. He believed deeply in being a good steward of God’s creation and treated the soil with respect, knowing it was something to be protected for future generations. Farming was not just his livelihood; it was his calling.
He served his agricultural community with pride as a member of the St. Martin Parish Cattlemen’s Association and as a board member of the St. Martin Parish Farm Bureau and the St. Martin Parish Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). His leadership came from experience, humility, and a genuine love for the land and the people who worked it.
A devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, Pee Wee faithfully served as an usher. His strong faith guided every part of his life, and his devotion to God was evident in the way he lived, worked, and cared for others.
Above all else, Pee Wee deeply loved his family. He had a strong presence and was steady, dependable, and kind. Those who knew him will remember his work ethic, his faith, and the pride he took in an honest day’s work. His legacy lives on in the fields he tended, the community he served, and the family he loved so well.
