Harry “T-Neg” Hebert
A visitation took place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 7:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
A Rosary was prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday by the Ladies Altar Society.
Rev. Greg Cormier officiated at the Funeral Mass with concelebrant, Rev. Keith Landry. Readers were Renee Arceneaux and Ashley LeBlanc. Gift bearers were Tina LeBlanc, Connie LeBlanc, Halie Dugas, Courtney Fontenot and Amy Bauman.
Burial will followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Harry dedicated his life to his work as a mechanic, earning the respect and admiration of those who knew him for his skill and unwavering commitment. He was well-known in his community for his generous spirit and willingness to help others, always ready to lend a hand or give someone the shirt off his back.
Harry had a passion for drag racing, often seen behind the wheel of his beloved 1959 Corvette, where he felt the thrill of speed and competition. His love for racing was matched only by his love for family and community.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beota “Bea” Rogers Hebert; children, Kirk (Belinda) Thibodeaux, Tina (Dwight) LeBlanc, Connie (Dean) LeBlanc, Mark (Marla) Hebert and Mike Hebert; grandchildren, Courtney Fontenot, Amy Bauman, Christopher LeBlanc, Holly Sain, Ashley LeBlanc, Renee Arceneaux, Trent Hebert, Halie Dugas and Devin LeBlanc; 13 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Clarence Gerard Hebert and Mary Angelle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alta Bergeron Hebert; siblings, Margaret Champagne, Allen Joseph Hebert and Larry Hebert; and his nephew, Andy Hebert.
Pallbearers were Kirk Thibodeaux, Mark Hebert, Mike Hebert, Christopher LeBlanc, Trent Hebert and Devin LeBlanc.
Honorary pallbearers were Gerard Hebert, Dwight LeBlanc and Dean LeBlanc.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Rev. Greg Cormier, Rev. Keith Landry, Rev. Joseph Brasseaux, Rev. Millard Boyer, Deacon Randy Hyde, the Ladies Altar Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Nursing Specialties Home Health, his nurses Chad, Camille, Alex and Amber, as well as the rest of the Ochsner Lafayette General Staff.
