Dolores C. Johnson

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Dolores C. Johnson, 83, who passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.

A visitation took place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continued on Friday from 7 a.m. until time of service. 

A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Lionel Rodriguez Jr.

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Aug. 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Lionel Rodriguez Jr., 82, who died on Aug. 18, 2023.

He is survived by his sons, Robert and Chadwick Rodriguez; nine grandchildren; brother, Raymond Rodriguez; and sisters, Rose Menard, Victoria Benoit and Elaine Angelle.

  Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

St. Martinville – A Memorial Service will be held on Aug. 24 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Elaine R. “Noonie” Guidry, 96, who died on Aug. 21, 2023. 

She is survived by her daughters, Eileen G. Landry and Michelle Latiolais; sons, Edmond III, Dr. Gary, and  Danny Guidry; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Judge Edmond L. Guidry Jr. 

Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Natchitoches – Lovan Barton Thomas, publisher of The Natchitoches Times, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday morning, Aug. 13, 2023. 

Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the First United Methodist Church in Natchitoches.

A private burial will be in the American Cemetery for family and close friends.

Hardy John LeBlanc

Breaux Bridge – A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Crawfish Town USA for Hardy John LeBlanc, 81, a proud Air Force veteran, who passed away on August 12, 2023, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Hardy was born on August 20, 1941, in Breaux Bridge. Hardy spent his entire life working in the construction industry, becoming a true craftsman and leaving an indelible mark on projects across the country.
