Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Mary Ann Thibodeaux, 57, who passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020.
She is survived by her husband, Clovis “Floyd” Sylvester Jr.; daughters, Congetia, Keshia and Brittany Sylvester; sons, Clovis III, Jonathan, Elton and Joshua Sylvester; brothers, John Skipper, Joseph Thibodeaux and Ulysse Batiste; sisters, Gussie Taylor, Lorecia Henry and Yvonne T. Vallery; and 17 grandchildren.
Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Beulah Dupuis Doucet

Butte LaRose – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private services will be held for Beulah Dupuis Doucet, 90, who passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020, at her residence in Butte LaRose.
Beulah was born and raised in Butte LaRose and was the owner of Doucet’s Grocery. Her passion was her store; she enjoyed working there and visiting friends that came in to shop on the weekends.

Harold J. Champagne

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Harold J. Champagne, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.
A rosary was prayed at 6 p.m. on Friday by the Loreauville Knights of Columbus Men’s Rosary Group.

Alice Vicknair Bienvenu

Catahoula – A Funeral Service will be held at 10 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Dion Hall for Alice Vicknair Bienvenu, 59, who passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Father Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Service. Inurnment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.

Carl Crane Brazell Jr.

Breaux Bridge – Carl Crane Brazell Jr. died November 27, 2020, of COVID-19 after a life-long heart disease battle.
Devoted family members were omnipresent in Carl’s final days in hospice at home in Breaux Bridge, La., his adopted hometown.
Carl, a gentle giant among broadcasting titans; a self-educated musician, chef, historian, and business executive; radio trailblazer for six decades; a husband Susan dubbed “The Big Guy;” was nearly 80 years old. He was born December 5, 1940.
