Yvonne Champagne Guidry

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Yvonne Champagne Guidry, 70, who passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, La.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday by Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert.
Fr. Blake Dubroc will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Tatum Guidry and Edna Melancon. Gift Bearers will be Bailey Champagne and Mackenzie Champagne.
Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Yvonne was a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School – Class of 1968. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Society. Yvonne was a proud member of the Cajun Sweet Potato Queens. As a pastime, she loved shopping, going dancing, fishing, playing Bunco, attending festivals, especially the Crawfish Festival, and attending all events for her grandchildren.
Yvonne was truly a classy lady, as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Although she didn’t need it, Yvonne never left home without putting on her make-up and her bling-bling. Yvonne will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, sparkling personality, and her beautiful smile that no one will ever forget. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Chester Guidry of Breaux Bridge; son, Rocky Guidry (Jacy LeBlanc) of Lafayette; daughter, Raquel Champagne (Ken Jude) of Parks; five grandchildren, Bailey Champagne, Mackenzie Champagne, Alex Champagne, Tatum Guidry and Beau Guidry; and three sisters, Mary Nell Greenwalt of Vidor, Texas, Betty Thibodeaux (Herbert) of Breaux Bridge, and Lorrie Tauzin (Feron) of Breaux Bridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyrus Marcel and Viola Frederick Champagne; brother, Roland Champagne Sr.; and her in-laws, Frank and Ella Guidry Sr.
Pallbearers will be Rocky Guidry, Alex Champagne, Ken Jude Champagne, Frank Gui-dry Jr., Russell Guidry and Robert Champagne.
Honorary pallbearers will be Beau Guidry and Roy Campbell Jr.
