Willis J. Lasseigne Sr.

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula for Willis J. Lasseigne, Sr., 85, who passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
In his earlier years, Willis was a farmer who took over the family farm after the death of his father. He then went to work in the oil industry for 30 plus years.
As a pastime, Willis enjoyed woodworking, fishing, cutting grass and doing yardwork. He enjoyed telling stories, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his three sons, Willis “Bill” Lasseigne Jr. (Janice), Kim Lasseigne (Lynn), and Clayton Lasseigne; three daughters, Lisa Bergeron (Albert), Karen Borel (Byron), and Paula Champagne (Charley); grandchildren, Shelley Theriot (Buddy), Keely Borel, Kent Borel (Brook), Ashley Courville (Chris), Blaine Borel (Jade), Sophie Bergeron, Jade LeBlanc (Jesse), Chantal Champagne, Paige Fontenot (Justin), Chase Champagne (Allison), and Dylan Lasseigne (Hanna); great grandchildren, Nathan and Jonah Theriot, Kennedy and Gracie Broussard, Brooklyn Bertholet, Landon, Remi and Audrey Courville, Carter and Peyton Borel, Jaelyn, Jy, and Jazmyn Bergeron, Emmi LeBlanc, Mylee and Micah Fontenot, and Adalynn and Tomletin Lasseigne; brother-in-law, Walter Boudreaux; and sister-in-law, Shirley Boudreaux.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsie Mae Boudreaux Lasseigne; parents, Willie and Rita Borel Lasseigne; sisters, Mandon Courville, Tessie Doucet, Yolande Vincent, Connie Duhon, Surita Broussard, and Bessie LeBlanc; and his brothers, Al Lasseigne and Zervin Lasseigne.
Pallbearers will be his loving grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
