Westford Joseph ‘JJ’ Angelle Jr.

Arnaudville – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church for Westford Joseph “JJ” Angelle Jr., 67, who passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at his residence in Arnaudville.

Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. 

Musical selections will be provided by Laura Huval and Charie Johnson. 

Mr. Angelle, affectionally known as “JJ”, was a native of Cecilia and lived most of his life in Arnaudville having been a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church. He was the former owner and operator of Jay’s Service Mart in Arnaudville and also farmed sweet potatoes for many years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and gardener. 

JJ was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed. 

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Pamela Meche Angelle of Arnaudville; one son, Adam Angelle and his wife Victoria of Youngsville; three daughters, Amy Reich and her husband Joshua of Gonzales, Adrienne Champagne and her husband Phillip of Breaux Bridge, and Alix Melancon and her husband Brandon of Cecilia; ten grandchildren, Sarah Champagne, Carson Champagne, SGT Austin Kade Reich, Karoline Reich, Eli Melancon, Emmy Melancon, Christopher Angelle Jr., Andrew Angelle, Grace Richard and Landon Richard; two brothers, Simon Angelle and his wife JoAnn of Arnaudville, and Marshall Angelle and his wife Geraldine of Cecilia; two sisters-in-law, Toni Lalonde and Denise Hebert and her husband David; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Westford Joseph Angelle Sr. and the former Paola Hollier; his in-laws, Marvin and MaryAnne Meche; and one brother-in-law, Carey Meche.

A rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9 a.m. Wednesday until service time on Wednesday.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the family respectfully asks that masks be worn at all times and social distancing be practiced. 

Pallbearers will be his son, sons-in-law and grandsons.
