Sariena Huval Savoie

Arnaudville – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Sariena Huval Savoie, 66, who passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Acadia General Hospital.

Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Arnaudville from 9:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, and continued on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. 

A rosary was prayed at 70 .p.m on Monday.

Rev. Travis Abadie officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers were Allison Robin and Braxton Guidry.

Interment followed at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.

Sariena was an avid sport fan. She enjoyed watching football, especially the Saints and so loved watching her grandson, Braegan, play football. She loved her daughter and grandchildren to the fullest. 

Sariena also enjoyed Sunday cruises with her husband visiting family and friends. She loved boiled crawfish and crabs. She was a true Cajun and was very well liked. She was the favorite Taunt to all the nieces and nephews and kept them in check. 

She will be dearly missed by family, friends, and all who loved her. 

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Joseph O. Savoie; daughter, NaKayla Brasseaux (Jordain); grandchildren, Braegan Brasseaux, Brailey Brasseaux and Brinley Brasseaux; siblings, Jimmie C. Huval, Todd Huval (Bridget), Gail  Zerangue, Helena Marks (Thomas) and Londa H. Domengeaux; godchildren, Kimberly Stelly and Brittany P. Breaux; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elinore Huval Jr. and  Willa Dean Hebert Huval; grandchild, Braesen Izri Brasseaux; sister, Kathleen Stelly; brother-in-law, Larry Zerangue; two nephews, Cody Marks and Storm Marks; maternal granparents, Wilfred and Gladys Knott Hebert; and uncle, David “NeNe” Hebert.

Pallbearers were Jimmie C. Huval, Todd  Huval, Braegan Brasseaux, Marcolby “Dude” Marks, Keith Zerangue and Thomas Marks.

Honorary pallbearers were Joseph O. Savoie, Braxton Guidry, Jordain  Brasseaux, Larry Boudreaux and Jackie Stelly Jr.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville was in charge of arrangements.
