Sandy’s children have chosen to hold funeral services at a later date. Once scheduled, family and friends will be notified with details of the arrangements.

Sandy was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville. She worked for the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service in Breaux Bridge for 15 years and was employed in various positions in the Oil & Gas industry in Lafayette for 28 years.

Sandy loved her family dearly and always relished the opportunities to share and spend time with them. She set the example for her children by exhibiting the values of being polite, well mannered, and generous to others throughout her life. She was always a lady. Sandy also took great pride in always being well organized and meticulous in detail in all of her endeavors. Her lifelong passion was traveling and she always considered herself fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit so many of her favorite destinations.

She will be missed deeply by all that knew and loved her, but comforted that she has found eternal peace.

She is survived by her sister, Ellen Larson Whitehurst; her children by her first husband, Richard Martin, sons, Eric (Phebe) and Matt (Monique) Martin; daughter, Lisa (Wes) Dupuis; daughter-in-law, Darlene (Mike) Melancon; grandchildren Chris, Jessie, Paul, Michael, Andre, Sophia, Hannah and Jude Martin and Nicholas and Zachary Dupuis; great-grandchildren, Harli, Elizabeth, Lily, Rivers, Troy and Cypress Martin and Ryker Dupuis; and nieces, Emily Whitehurst Payne and Kendra Lee Larson Emeish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Broussard “Bruce” Walker Sr.; her son, Troy Martin; parents William and Elodie (Bienvenu) Larson; brother, Billy Larson; and stepmother, Aline Larson.

The family would like to offer their deepest appreciation to all of the caregivers that provided comfort to Sandy over the last several months. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to support Hospice of Acadiana or the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Sandy’s favorite charity.
