Rose Ellen Barras

Rose, age 75, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022. 

She was a resident of Albany, La. Rose sang in church choirs since she was a little girl. She was a beloved grandmother to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and bird watching among many other matters. 

Rose was a fantastic 5th grade teacher. She was adored and cherished by all her students; they looked up to Mrs. Rose for guidance. She always made sure everyone was fed and well taken care of. Rose impacted each life she encountered and will be forever loved and remembered.

Rose is survived by her husband, Wayne Barras; sons, David and Michael Barras; brother, Clifford Mouton Jr; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Sr. and Rose Mouton; sister, Suzanne Riggio; and brother, Jerome Mouton.

A Memorial visitation was held at St. Margaret Catholic Church Hall on Friday, September 23, 2022, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., with Mass following at St. Margaret Catholic Church. 

Interment was at the church cemetery.
