Michael ‘Bubba’ Reed

St. Martinville – A Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Michael “Bubba” Reed, 23, who passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, at his residence.

Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday and continued on Sunday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m.

Interment followed at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes.

Bubba was born and raised in Vidor, Texas, and was a resident of St. Martinville, Louisiana, for the last 12 years. For the past few years, he has worked as a mechanic at WHC Energy Services. Prior, he worked many years at Joyce’s Supermarket and Feed Store.

Bubba enjoyed riding his Harley, Jim Beam Honey, cooking and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his godchild, Declan. Bubba was always there to help anyone in need. 

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his mother, Kristi Henson; sisters, Chassidy Reed, Caitlin Reed and Breé West; brothers, Bradley West Jr. and Cole Reed; maternal grandparents, Leo Bourg and Lena Guidry Bourg; nephew and godchild, Declan Reed; godchild, Kooper Rebert; stepbrother, Christopher “CJ” Berthelot Jr.; stepfather, Christopher Berthelot; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Shanon Michael Reed; paternal grandfather, Michael Earl Reed; paternal grandmother, Deborah Tammen; maternal grandfather, John William Henson; aunts, Bridget Henson and Isabella Guidry; cousin, Jaxon Lee Porterfield; and maternal great-grandparents, Leo and Euline Dugas Guidry. 

Pallbearers were Bradley West Jr., Micah Porterfield, Billy Porterfield, Terrance Williams, Jackson Theriot and Christopher “CJ” Berthelot Jr. 

Honorary pallbearers were Declan Reed, Leo Bourg, Donney LeBlanc and Kirt Rebert. 

Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
