Mary B. Hayes

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Mary B. Hayes, 77 years, who passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of Mass.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday evening.
Father Blake Dubroc will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Inurnment will follow at a later date at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mary worked as a secretary at Ford Motor Credit in Lafayette for over 30 years. She enjoyed photography, going to the beach, camping, researching genealogy, music and reading. Most of all, Mary loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Easton Hayes of Breaux Bridge; sons, Leo Hayes (Lynette) of Nashville, Tenn., Kevin Hayes (Jeanine) of Luling and Thomas Hayes of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Patricia Begnaud of Opelousas; special niece, who was like a daughter, Faye Broussard of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Hunter Hayes of Nashville, Tenn., Harrison Hayes of Breaux Bridge, Christopher Begnaud (Ruth) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Aaron Begnaud of Lafayette, Melissa Mary-Hayes Ardoin (Jascha) of Youngsville, Justin Hayes (Sarah) of Lafayette, Victoria Heyl (Dylan) of Harahan, Brooks Dupuis (Debra) of Lafayette, Bethany Dupuis of Destrehan, Beau Dupuis (Amanda) of Destrehan and Britt Dupuis of Destrehan; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Logan, Sophie, Autum, Maggie, Duke, Elizabeth, Brenna, Brylee and Grayson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Alfreda Trosclair Bergeron; brothers, Melvin “Black” Bergeron and Merlin Bergeron; sisters, Melba Richard and Mildred Allemand; and in-laws, Anne Lou Champagne and Sauvol Hayes.
Pallbearers will be Leo Hayes, Thomas Hayes, Hunter Hayes, Justin Hayes, Christopher Begnaud, Aaron Begnaud, Michael Begnaud and Jascha Ardoin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joey, Lee, Mckenna and Beau Bergeron, Lester Broussard and Carl, Steven and Kenneth Allemand.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to her caregivers, Carolyn Celestine and Phil Stelly, the staff at Hospice of Acadiana, as well as Dr. Cordova and Dr. Lugo for their compassion and care.
