Mary Agnes Bienvenu Sanchez

Breaux Bridge - A memorial service and Mass will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church at 3 p.m., on Friday, July 16, 2021 for Mary Agnes Bienvenu Sanchez, who passed away on Wednesday June 16, 2021, in Carson City, Nevada.
The family requests visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge from 12 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
Mary was born to Joseph Andrew Bienvenu, Jr. and Lité Bonin Bienvenu on September 13, 1952; the second born of seven children.
Mary was a highly respected lifelong educator. She held many teaching positions, as well as a principalship, in a career that she maintained until her time of death. In her 46 years in education, Mary positively influenced the lives of countless students, parents of her students, and fellow educators.
Mary loved to travel, which she did as often as she could with her dear friends. She also loved to read, do crossword puzzles, visit casinos, and spend time with family and friends. Mary loved to laugh and was a great storyteller and family historian. Her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her siblings, Joseph Andrew “Andy” Bienvenu III (Jeanie), Pauline Landry (Phillip), Alice Denais (Harlan), Luke Bienvenu (Juanita), and Lucy Ellender; her sisters-in-law, Noreen Bienvenu and Carmen Sanchez Finnan; her nieces and nephews, Amy Bienvenu, Wendy Breath (Shannon), Chrissy Eyde (Gary), Andrea Pourciau (Andre’), Aaron Landry (Amanda), Kevin Landry (Carolyn), Damian Denais, Christopher Bienvenu, Michelle Bienvenu, Stephen Bienvenu, Andrew Bienvenu (Sadie), Bridget Hunter (Kendall), Brian Ellender, Jr. (Heidi), Joshua Ellender, Kelli Holtman (Amy), David Bienvenu, Jr. (Kristin), Gregory Bienvenu (Courtney), Joan Hansen, and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donatian “Don” Alphonso Sanchez; parents, Joseph Andrew Bienvenu, Jr. and Lité Bonin Bienvenu; brother, David Bienvenu, Sr.; brother-in-law, Brian Ellender, Sr., and great nephew, Cody Pourciau.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mary’s dear friend, Susanne Leblanc, for the love, care, and attention she provided in Mary’s final days.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
