Markus James Robertson Sr.
St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Markus James Robertson Sr. 51, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Rev. Abelardo Gabriel, Celebrant, officiating.
He will await the resurrection in House of Love Cemetery in St. Martinville.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 7 a.m. until the time of the service with a rosary to be recited at 9 a.m.
Due to the August 1, 2021, Louisiana COVID-19 mandate, masks are required to be worn by all attendees at the church and cemetery.
A resident of St. Martinville, he transitioned peacefully at 12:18 a.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at his residence.
Markus was known as the jack of all trades as he was a local carpenter, barber and owner of Markus Robertson Handyman Services.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dameka Landry of St. Martinville; one son, Markus Robertson Jr. of St. Martinville; one daughter: Markella Robertson of St. Martinville; two grandchildren; his parents, Joseph and Edmonia Robertson of St. Martinville; two sisters, Pamela Joseph (Oliver) and Gwendolyn Morgan, both of St. Martinville; and a host of relatives, church family and friends.
He was preceded in death by, his son, Keavan Kawasky Nicholas; one sister, Ramona Robertson; four brothers, Joseph Robertson Jr., John Alfred Robertson, Dale Robertson and Skody Robertson Sr.; maternal grandparents: Harry and Olivier Johnson; paternal grandparents, Randolph and Louise Robertson.
Active pallbearers are Olivia Joseph, Olynski Joseph, Alizah Robertson, Christian Henry, Kedra Robertson and Markus Robertson Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Oliver Joseph Jr., Lamont Marshall, Kendrick Wiltz, Dylan Gordon, Leroy Robertson and Skody Robertson Jr.
