Cecilia – Funeral services were held on Friday, February 5, 2021, at 2 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Margaret Ann Lastrapes Noel, 66, who died January 30, 2021, at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge, LA.
Interment wase in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
Our beloved Margaret Ann Lastrapes Noel was born in Arnaudville, Louisiana on September 18, 1954, to the late Walter Lastrapes Jr. and Marina “Rena” Dartez Lastrapes.
Margaret was raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana but returned back home to Arnaudville, Louisiana during her adolescent years. She graduated from Cecilia High School in 1973. On June 8, 1974, Margaret married the love of her life, Joseph Rodney Noel. From this holy union, they created three loving children, Jessica, Nicole, and Emmanuel.
Margaret’s life passion and pure enjoyment was focusing on her family! She was a devoted spouse, an amazing mother with a captivating smile and personality that would illuminate any room. She carried on with a benevolent yet satisfying life. Margaret, The Prayer Warrior, a living Angel on earth!
During her spare time, she enjoyed listening to music, dancing and visiting with friends and family. In addition, Margaret was known by all for her genuine selflessness, her unwavering devotion to the Lord and the Catholic Church. Her love for helping others became apparent when Margaret became a substitute teacher in St. Martin Parish and devoting her time as a religion teacher at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Margaret leaves to cherish in her memory, Joseph R. Noel with 46 years of marriage; three children, Jessica Ann Noel Collins (Terrel) of Youngsville, LA, Nicole Noel of Dallas, Texas, and Emmanuel Archie Noel of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Avery Janae Collins and Phoenix Khristian Dorsey. She also leaves behind one sister, Claytina Clementine Gillum (Westley Sr.) of Lafayette, LA; two sisters-in-law, Rita Sylvester and Bertha Lastrapes; four brothers-in-law, Joseph Williams Sr, Pascal Noel (Joyce), Rogers Noel and Maxile Noel (Shirley).
Margaret is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lastrapes Jr. and Rena Dartez Lastrapes; a brother, Cleophus Joseph Lastrapes; two sisters: Katherine Williams and Mable Johnson; her paternal grandparents, Walter and Mable Lastrapes Sr.; maternal grandparents, Cleophus and Clementine Patt Dartez; and her in-laws, Rodney and Bernadette Daigle Noel.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 5, 2021, at Syrie Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. A rosary was recited at 12:30 p.m.
