Lula Mae Ledoux Thomassee

Breaux Bridge – A Private Graveside Service will be held for the immediate family of Lula Mae Ledoux Thomassee, 102, who passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.

An energetic little woman with a positive outlook whose life was devoted to her faith and her family, Lula Mae Ledoux Thomassee quietly turned her heart and soul to her God and closed her eyes to this world. Born October 26, 1917, she passed away on April 17, 2020. She leaves us with memories of delicious home cooked meals, special cookies and desserts, loving counsel, and an appreciation for the special blessings in our daily lives.
She lives in the hearts of her daughters, Lynn Thomassee Cook and husband Larry, and Mary Thomassee Latiolais and husband Lester. She will be cherished and lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren,: Laurie C. Richard, Scott R. Thomassee, Tony J. Latiolais, Smokey J. Cook, Wendy T. Comeaux, Allison L. Bihm and Matthew Thomassee; step grandson, Mark Abshire; and numerous great-grandchildren.
As a young girl, she enjoyed writing to pen pals, reading, swimming and photography. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, she celebrated family accomplishments and occasions, bonded and argued with Tony, visited with friends and cousins, enjoyed home demonstration club fellowship and activities, and later traveled (via bus tours) to different parts of the country.
In the later part of her life, she enjoyed the friendship and loving care of family, Earline Latiolais and special ladies who cared for her at home then was lovingly cared for by the wonderful staff at J. Michael Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by devoted family members: her husband, Henry W. Thomassee; her parents, Maurice and Loretta Hollier Ledoux; two sisters, Lena Ledoux Veillon and Sybil Ledoux Champagne; a son, Robert Ledoux Thomassee, a step grandson, Glenn Abshire, a great-grandson, Ethan Thomas Cook; and great-granddaughter, Sadie Renee Bihm.
