Lucien Walter Lewis Jr.

The Journey Home for “Lucien Jr.”

In the year 1950 on April 20, a baby boy was born to the late Mr. Lucien Lewis Sr. and the late Bernadine Lewis and they named him Lucien Jr., affectionately known as Skippy (Skip). He grew up an exceptional young man in St. Martinville, Louisiana and moved to Houston, Texas to start his college education at Texas Southern University.
While attending college he worked as an orderly at Parkway Hospital where he met and fell in love with his late wife. He retired from LyondellBasell after 30 years of dedicated employment.
Lucien was a proud father and participated as team coach in baseball, football and soccer. Lucien was also a minister of God’s Word. He was well liked by friends and family and will truly be missed.
Behold the God of peace, who raised our Lord Jesus Christ, has called Lucien home on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
Lucien ministered at Church of God and Christ. He visited various churches throughout his Christian walk with God and worked with the homeless and Food For Life for over 20 years. He fed, clothed and ministered everyday to those in need. He will be forever remembered for his goodwill and stewardship in Gods House.
He fell in love and married Joan C. Blount, in St. Martinville, Louisiana. He fathered a daughter and two sons. God blessed them with 36 years of Friendship, Love, Joy and Happiness. Their union is an inspiration and testimony for the many lives they have touched.
Lucien’s life will be treasured by all who survive: Michelle Y. Tijerina [Daughter](Alfonso), Lucien W. Lewis III [Son](Jacqueline), David J. Lewis [Son](Presley); grandchildren, Aydan Lewis and Leah Lewis; and a host of loving family members and friends. This world has been and will continue to be a better place due to the legacy of love and honor his mere name leaves behind.
