Loula Mae Green Clay

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Loula Mae Green Clay, 88, who passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at her residence.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening by Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert.
Rev. Michael Delcambre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Ashley Roberts, Lauren Clay and Meagen Clay. Gift Bearers were Dalaney, Shelby, Hali, Erika, Caroline, Mckenzie, Mia, Emily, Harli, Elizabeth, Alivia, Jordyn, Mary Catherine, Anna Claire and Ava Grace. Altar server was Sawyer Roberts.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Loula Mae was a substitute teacher for 21 years in the Breaux Bridge area. She was also a well-known seamstress and a Pink Lady at St. Martin Hospital. Loula Mae was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing Bourrée and going to the casino, but most of all, she loved spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Loula Mae was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Ledbetter (Glenn), Nancy Hebert and Ellen Clay; sons, Michael Clay (Jackie) and Patrick Clay (Deanna); sister-in-law, Beverly M. Green; grandchildren, Eric Dumatrait (Tracy) and their children, Josh and Shelby, Chad Dumatrait (Connie) and their children, Dalaney, Gabe and Hali, Pat Clay (Jill) and their children, Payton, Mckenzie and Mia, Ben Clay (Penny) and their children, Emily and Tucker, Jamie Clay Martin (Chris) and their children, Harli and Elizabeth, Jai Clay (Chris) and their children, Erika and Austin, Ashley Hebert Roberts (Scott) and their children, Sawyer, Marshall, Mary Catherine, Anna Claire and Ava Grace, Jenny Clay Champagne (Cody) and their children, Alivia, Griffin and Jordyn, Meagen Clay (Jake) and her child, Caroline, Trevor Clay and Lauren Clay (Matt).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall P. Clay; parents, Armand Green and Lucille Broussard Green; sisters, Annie Hopkins (Jessner), Lillian “Bea” Angelle (Sidney), Enola “Toot” Castille and Edith “Sis” Turner (James); brothers, Jim Green, John Green and Alton “Brod” Green; sister-in-law, Jeannine C. Leach (Jimmy); and parents-in-law, Jeanne and Joe Clay.
Pallbearers were Eric Dumatrait, Chad Dumatrait, Pat Clay, Ben Clay, Jai Clay and Trevor Clay.
Honorary Pallbearers were Josh, Gabe, Austin, Payton, Tucker, Griffin, Sawyer and Marshall.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to her caregivers: Meagen, Terri, Mary, Joy, Laura, Darlene and Tiffany, and the staff of Traditions Hospice of Lafayette, especially Krista for their care and compassion.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
