Louis Angelle

Cecilia – A Funeral Service wase held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Louis Angelle, 89, who passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. 

A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday. A French rosary was prayed at 11:30 a..m on Saturday. 

Deacon Ken Soignier officiated at the Funeral Service. Readers were Jena Kaye Delahoussaye and Zachary Angelle.

Interment followed at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Cecilia.

Louis was born on February 14, 1933, in Cecilia. He was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a faithful member of the Cecilia Rosary Group. Louis loved antique cars and would joyride in his own 1930 Model A. He appreciated his Cajun heritage and listened to Cajun French music and liked a good spicy Cajun meal.

He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who immensely cherished his time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his children, Paula Angelle Ray, Wayne Angelle (Michelle), Dwayne Angelle (Jacky), Pamela Pickering, Sherry Thibodeaux (Scott) and Kerry Melancon (Mark); grandchildren, Tory Angelle, Jena Delahoussaye (Ben Givens), Zachary Angelle, Eryn Rose Angelle, Cameron Angelle, Dalan McGee, Devin  Pickering, Dylan Pickering (Tyra), Dannon Pickering, Andrea Pickering, Alyssa Thibodeaux, Brayden Thibodeaux, Ava Thibodeaux, Morgan Melancon and Scout Melancon; and his great-grandchildren, Ezra Soileau, Sylvie Kaye Givens, Bentley Pickering and Ashlyn Pickering.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Q. Angelle; parents, Stanley and Cecile Huval Angelle; sisters, Anna Lou A. Melancon, Marion Angelle and Betty A. Kilchrist;  brothers, Edgar Angelle, Francis Angelle and Edwin Angelle; infant brother, Stanley Angelle; infant sister, Cecile Angelle; and his son-in-law, Dennis Pickering. 

Pallbearers were Dwayne Angelle, Wayne Angelle, Tory Angelle, Dannon Pickering, Mark Melancon and Scott Thibodeaux.

Honorary pallbearers were Zachary Angelle, Cameron Angelle, Dalan McGee, Devin  Pickering, Dylan Pickering, Brayden Thibodeaux, Scout  Melancon, Ezra Soileau and Bentley Pickering.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
