Laura ‘Sue’ Melancon Albert
St. Martinville – A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church for Laura “Sue” Melancon Albert, 74, who passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 20 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Rev. Jessie Charpentier will officiate the Funeral Service.
Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes.
Laura was a devout Christian and member of Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church in St. Martinville. She was a member of the prayer chain and she made all of the flower arrangements for church.
Laura was a school bus driver for many years in St. Martin Parish. She loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places. Laura never missed an event and she loved to help others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Clesma “Cam” Albert; daughter, Betty Landry; sons, Jeremy Landry, Troy Landry, Rusty Landry, Chad (Melissa) Albert and Clayton Albert; grandchildren, Naomi Landry, Tawny Landry, Gianna Troiano, Tana Landry, Draygon Landry, Hannah Albert, Kilia Albert, Logan Albert and Justin Arnette; sister, Olivia (Barry) Landry; brother, Gerald Melancon; nieces, Stacy Landry, Elizabeth Melancon, Tracy Landry, Billie Johnston and Sherel Johnston; great-nieces, Lillian Pesson and Shanna Johnston; great-nephews, Joey Johnston, Chris Johnston, Shane Johnston and Scotty Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Landry; parents, Husville and Dorothy Babineaux Melancon; and sister-in-law, Mary Melancon.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Landry, Troy Landry, Rusty Landry, Chad Albert, Clayton Albert and Roland Albert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Melancon and Barry Landry.
