Karen Hebert Poché

September 7, 1967- March 5, 2021

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 2 p.m. in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Karen Hebert Poché, 53, who died peacefully on Friday, March 5, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
The family will receive guests at Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN location on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Entombment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery #2 Mausoleum in Breaux Bridge.
Pastor Chris Fuselier will conduct the funeral service.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Floyd Poché; cherished daughter, Rebekah Poche-Guidry (Blaise); treasured step-son, Scotty Poche (Chantel); two grandchildren, Kenley and Jase Poché; two sisters, Denise H. Romero (Randy) and Roxanne H. Roger (Michael); one brother, Marcus Hebert (Tessie); Godchildren, Jason Romero (Brye) and Brantley Hebert; her nieces and nephews, Ashley R. Bastida (Carlos), Adam Hebert, Cody Jagneaux and Meagan Gowdey (Derick); her great nieces and nephews, Dominic and Nolan Bastida, Preslee Romero, Peyton Blanchard, Matthew Dowdell and Raymond Gowdey; and Godmother, Trisha LeBlanc Labit.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Desiree Michelle Poche; and her parents, Nolan James and Hilda Mae Stelly Hebert; and Godfather, Kenneth Hebert.
Karen was one of four children and adored each of her siblings. She was a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School (1985) and as a teenager began working at Poché’s Market and Restaurant. There she fell in love with her beloved husband, Floyd. She spent her life by his side, devoted to the operation of their business. Through their combined love and passion they were able to grow Poché’s into the great success that it is today.
Karen was loved by everyone she knew and never met a stranger. Her children were the light in her eyes. Karen will be remembered for her generosity, kindness and compassion for all. She cared deeply for all of her employees and customers and loved to help them in any way that she could.
Karen was a world traveler and loved to travel along-side her family and friends. Because of her deep reverence for all of humanity, she loved to immerse herself in cultural and religious experiences of all kinds. She especially loved Sedona, Arizona, Peru, Israel and Italy.
Karen was an amazing cook and especially loved creating healthy dishes with her daughter Rebekah. She always made sure to include her most special ingredient … love. She loved spending time with her family, employees, friends and drinking her Pinot Noir.
Karen was devoted to her spiritual practice, was a mentor to many and peace was felt in her presence always. She loved life and lived it fully and fearlessly. She was always seen with a smile and will remain in the hearts of everyone that she met.
Pallbearers include: Blaise Guidry, Scotty Poche, Jason Romero, Adam Hebert, Brantley Hebert and Carlos Bastida.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Jase Poche.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN location on Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A Rosary will be prayed by Alex Kidder at 12 Noon in the funeral home.
A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Poché family to the nurses, staff and doctors of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, for their compassion, kindness and loving care given to Mrs. Poché and her family during their time of need. Also, to all of the family, friends and customers who have continuously offered prayers, support, and expressed genuine concern during this time, may God bless you in all of the ways that you have blessed the Poché family.
