Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Jean Roy Landry, 73, who passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 7:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
A rosary was prayed at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Scriptures were read by Ashley Landry and Kaisha Patin. Gift bearers were Brannon Patin and Kourtney Landry.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Jean was born October 16, 1944, in Breaux Bridge. He was an excellent cabinet maker and loved working with oak. He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. Jean loved spending time with all of his family, especially going to the races with his two sons. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 53 years, Dianne Melancon Landry; sons, Kip Neil Landry and wife Ashleigh, and Chad James Landry and his companion, Brandy Daigle; sisters, Verna Laviolette and Lorraine Fitch; grandchildren, Sean McRaney, Ashley Landry, Kourtney Landry, Zacherie LeBoeuf, Kileigh Landry, Gage Patin, Kaisha Patin and Brannon Patin; and his great-grandchildren, Hayes Sampey and Collin Studebaker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aristille and Gladys Theriot Landry; and brothers, Lennis Landry and Lawrence Landry.
Pallbearers were Kip Neil Landry, Chad James Landry, Zacherie LeBoeuf, Gage Patin, Keith Melancon and Sean McRaney.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
