Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Ivan John Menard Sr., 76, who passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continued on Friday from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 6 p.m. on Thursday by his aunt, Wildie Roberts.
Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the Funeral Service. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Ivan honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed entertaining his family and friends, going to the casino, hunting and fishing, traveling, and hanging out with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Ivan John Menard II and wife Marivi of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters, Sharron Doré of New Orleans, Simonne Keller and husband Johnathan of Prairieville, and Crystal Menard of Lafayette; brothers, Ronald Menard and wife Carli of Lafayette, Norris Menard of New Iberia and Thomas Menard and wife Jean of Pennsylania; grandchildren, Nicole Menard, Matthew Menard, Darah Doré, Christian Keller, Barrett Menard, Emily Bratton and Daniel Menard; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dalton and Anna Mae Degeyter Menard; a son, Daniel Keith Menard; and his companion, Joyce Comeaux.
Pallbearers were Ivan John Menard II, Christian Keller, Thomas Menard, Johnathan Keller, Craig Stearns and Gary Comeaux.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
