Hope Blanchard Guidry

Cecilia – A Funeral Service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Hope Blanchard Guidry, 55, who passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022.

Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

A rosary was prayed at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the Funeral Service. 

Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.

Hope was born April 26, 1966, in Breaux Bridge. She was a dedicated educator and worked at Breaux Bridge Primary as a 4th grade teacher, and also taught at St. Bernard Catholic School, and St. Genevieve Catholic School, for several years. 

A proud supporter of 4-H, Hope began working as a County Extension Agent serving as the 4-H Youth Development Agent with LSU AgCenter in 2006. 

Hope enjoyed spending time at their family’s houseboat, taking trips to the casino, and she was also a huge fan of Tim McGraw. Hope cherished her time spent with her family and friends and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Kevin Guidry; daughter, Gabrielle Ardoin (Julian); son, Jordan Guidry; grandchild, Ayla Ardoin; mother, Cindy Theriot (Eugene); brother, John Blanchard (Rachael); and her sister, Bridgette Hebert (Kyle).

She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Gary Blanchard; maternal grandparents, John and Josie Hebert;  paternal grandparents, Steven and Bridgette Blanchard; and her in-laws, Ken and Missy Guidry and Useline “Crab” Savoy.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
