Hardy John LeBlanc
Breaux Bridge – A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Crawfish Town USA for Hardy John LeBlanc, 81, a proud Air Force veteran, who passed away on August 12, 2023, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Hardy was born on August 20, 1941, in Breaux Bridge. Hardy spent his entire life working in the construction industry, becoming a true craftsman and leaving an indelible mark on projects across the country.
From an early age, it was evident that Hardy had a passion and talent for his work. Taking great pride in his craft, he dedicated his days to building and renovating structures with unparalleled skill and precision. One of his most notable accomplishments was being part of the first renovation of Lafayette General Medical Center.
Known for his warm and friendly nature, Hardy could always be found with a smile on his face and a joke ready to share. He had an extraordinary ability to bring laughter into any room and uplift the spirits of those around him. His comedic timing was impeccable, and he took great delight in seeing others joyful.
Outside of work, Hardy found solace in spending time outdoors. He cherished the simple pleasures of life like cutting his grass and watching the birds in his yard. He relished being active and constantly engaged in various projects around his home.
Family held an exceptional place in Hardy’s heart; he was truly devoted to those he loved. His wife, children, grandchildren – they were undoubtedly the joy that filled every fiber of his being. He created lasting memories with them through family gatherings, adventures together, and the unwavering support he provided. Hardy’s steadfast love and commitment were evident in his actions, as he consistently placed the well-being and happiness of his family above all else.
Proud of his Cajun heritage, Hardy was a testament to his roots. He embraced the culture, traditions, and values of his heritage with immense pride.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mildred “Elaine” Landry LeBlanc; daughters, Dana Lynn LeBlanc, Lottie LeBlanc (A.J.) Broussard, and Alexis Marie (Lonnie McCoy Cook Jr.) LeBlanc; brother, Moise “Hobo” LeBlanc Jr.; sister, Rena “Tiny” LeBlanc (Guy) Courville; and his grandchildren, Joshua Bennett Huval, Daniel Hardy Huval, Zoe Louise Huval, Mathew Frances Huval, Ana Mae Huval, Zachary Tyler Broussard, Adam Gabriel Broussard and Gavin McCoy Cook.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Moise and Julia Hardy LeBlanc, Sr.; and his sister, Bertha Willis.
