Gloria Ann LaGrange

Cecilia – A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Gloria Ann LaGrange, 74, who passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. on Thursday.

Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Memorial Service.  The reader will be Kali Castille.  Gift Bearers will be her grandchildren. 

Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.

Gloria was a faith healer, better known as a “traiteur,” a treater who specialized in treating those with sunstrokes and cured many who came to her for healing.

Her love for her family and friends was unconditional, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Gloria had a kind and sweet personality and would make anyone feel at home – no one was ever a stranger. She was always insistent to anyone she met that she be called, “Mom.” 

Gloria was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for many years. As a pastime, she enjoyed baking, sewing, keeping up her beautiful yard, and making rosaries. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. 

She is survived by her husband, Curtis LaGrange; daughter, Denise Andries (Tim); son, James “Jim” LaGrange (Delores); stepson, Kim David; stepdaughter, Lana Phillips; sisters, Betty Roger and Debbie Hidalgo; six grandchildren, Chase LaGrand (Tiffine), Kali Castille (Kaynon), Holly Billiot (Nathaniel), T.J. Andries (Nyla), Stacy Bush (Matt) and Tiffanie Bush; and her great-grandchildren, Cooper LeGrand, Alana Champagne and Izzy Castille. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and  Pearl Babineaux Hidalgo.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
