Georgie G. Rodriguez

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Georgie G. Rodriguez, 78, who passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Rev. Gregory Cormier officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Cecilia.
Georgie was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia. She was a member of the choir, as well as a catechism teacher.
Georgie was an employee of 1st Louisiana National Bank for 25 years. She also served as the St. Martin Parish Voting Commissioner for 15 years.
Georgie enjoyed traveling all over including, Evangeline, Canada, Hawaii, and North and South Dakota. She loved sight-seeing and camping. Georgie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lionel Rodriguez; sons, Robert “Bobby” Jude Rodriguez and wife Monique Araujo Rodriguez, and Chadwick Paul Rodriguez Sr. and wife Danielle Marie Bourgeois Rodriguez; brother, Michelle Ned Guidry Sr. and wife Annabelle Latiolais; sisters, Shirley Guidry Gunckel and Theresa Devine Guidry Spisa; grandchildren, Bryce Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, Braxton LeCoq, Brayden LeCoq, Chadwick Rodriguez Jr., Gabrielle LeCoq, Gabriel Rodriguez, Ezekiel Araujo and Ezra Rodriguez.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alexis Joseph Guidry; mother, Theresa Dore Guidry; brothers-in-law, Joseph Gunckel and Ronald Spisa; and nephews, Michelle Guidry Jr. and Keith Guidry.
Pallbearers were Chadwick Paul Rodriguez Sr., Bryce Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, Braxton LeCoq, Timothy Gunckel and Corey Duplechin.
Honorary pallbearers were Brayden LeCoq, Chadwick Rodriguez Jr. and Gabriel Rodriguez.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
