Georgia ‘Jo’ Latiolais Thibodeaux

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Georgia “Jo” Latiolais Thibodeaux, 74, who passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and continued on Friday at 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. ​
​ A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday.​
​ Rev. Garrett Savoie officiated at the Funeral Mass. ​Interment followed at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.​
​ Jo was the true matriarch of her family, she was a devoted homemaker, but also assisted her husband in their family business. She was a devout Catholic all her life and instilled the love of God in her family.
Jo had a green thumb and loved tending to her flowers. She enjoyed antique shopping with her friends, and she had a knack for arranging antiques together. She also enjoyed listening and dancing to Cajun music. Jo was a faithful friend and an amazing host, she welcomed anyone to her home and often made her guests beignets. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister – her infectious smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. ​
She is survived by her son, Ray Thibodeaux and wife Andrea Boggs; daughters, Maria T. Bertrand and companion, James Rigney, Rachel Thibodeaux and companion Larry “Possum” Bertrand Jr. and Michele T. Romero and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Forest Bertrand, Brooke B. O’Banion and husband Darian, Evan Thibodeaux, Joshua Romero and Ethan Thibodeaux; great-grandchild, Autumn Annette O’Banion; brothers, Danny Latiolais and wife Mary and Anthony “Tony” Latiolais and wife Geralyn; sisters, Laura Bossenberry, widow of Earl, and Clarine “Cat” Flaherty and husband Michael; and brother-in-law, John Kidder.​
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ray “T-Ray” Allen Thibodeaux; parents, Lionel Latiolais and Loula Devillier Latiolais; brothers, Albert “Goo-you” Latiolais, Lionel “Michael” Latiolais Jr., Achille “Darling” Latiolais, Warren “Bob” Latiolais, Lee “Mose” Latiolais and Darrell “Daro” Latiolais; sister, Evelyn Kidder; and son-in-law, Todd P. Bertrand.​
Pallbearers were Ray Thibodeaux, Forest Bertrand, Joshua Romero, Evan Thibodeaux, Ethan Thibodeaux and Larry “Possum” Bertrand Jr.​
​ Honorary pallbearer were Danny Latiolais, Tony Latiolais, Darian O’Banion, James Rigney and John Conery.
