Ella T. Linden

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” –John 14:3-4

 

St. Martinville – A home-going celebration of life for Mrs. Ella Mae Linden 72, the former Ella Mae Thibodeaux, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Union Baptist Church (910 Saint Martin Street, St. Martinville, LA 70582) with Rev. Darren Benoit, Pastor, officiating.  

She will await the resurrection in House of Love Cemetery in St. Martinville, La. 

Visitation hours will be observed at Union Baptist Church on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 7 a.m. until the time of the service. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are required to be worn by all attendees at the church and cemetery. 

A resident of Saint Martinville, La., she transitioned at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Landmark of Acadiana in Cade, La.

Ella Mae was loved and cherished by her husband, five children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. At a young age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and later became an active attending member of Union Baptist Church in Saint Martinville, La. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren wholeheartedly. In her spare time, she loved watching the Young and the Restless, and spending time with her family and friends, traveling to various casinos. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Edward Linden Sr. of Saint Martinville, La; four daughters, Renee Stewart (Clarence Jr.), Margaret Nero (Reginald), Marguerite Linden Corsley (Turond) all of Saint Martinville, La., and Mary White (Aquinas) of New Iberia, La.;  two sons: Edward Linden Jr. of Saint Martinville, La. and Martin Linden (Halle) New Iberia, La.; two brothers: John Thibodeaux of Saint Martinville, La. and Weston Thibodeaux (Janelle) Leesville, La.; one sister: Ida Jones of Jeanerette, La.; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; five godchildren, Ophelia Savoy of Dallas, Twxas, Janata Houston of Saint Martinville, La., Melissa Mabry of Killeen, Texas, June Carroll Bourda of Saint Martinville, La., Terrance Lindon of Lafayette, La. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Thibodeaux and Olivia Anthony Thibodeaux; sister, Anita Bourda; five brothers, Raymond Thibodeaux, Ramsey Thibodeaux, Russell Thibodeaux, Robert Guidry and Harold Thibodeaux; two nieces, Janelle Bourda and Marilyn Bourda; two nephews, Nathan Thibodeaux and Wayne Roberts; and goddaughter, Patricia Ledet.

Active pallbearers are Melvin Thibodeaux, Keith Thibodeaux, Marcus Bourda, Patrick Bourda, Martin Linden, Gilbert Clay, Perry Linden and Anthony Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Morris Thibodeaux, David Bourda, Vaughn Bourda, Derrick Bourda, Brandon Bourda, Jeremy Bourda, Kenyon White, Demarcus White, Tamarien Corsey, Aquinas Johnson Sr., Terrance Lindon and Reginald Nero.
