Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Elaine M. Richard, 83, who passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at The Blake Nursing Home.

Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. 

A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Rev. Nicholas DuPré officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.

Elaine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, shopping, and going to garage sales with her friends. Elaine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her son, Keith Richard (Laurie); daughter, Kristi Russ (Ron); grandchildren, Ryan Boudreaux, Sarah Dunn, Ashley Gaubert (Trevor), Jessica Dennison (Matt) and Megan Krizmanich (Kyle); great-grandchild, Noah Dunn; and brother, Mickey Mason (Gloria).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Joseph Richard; daughter, Tracy Thibodeaux; parents, Noah Mason and Selma Fruge Mason; brother, Dickey Mason; and uncle, Ralph Fruge. 

Pallbearers were Keith Richard, Ryan Boudreaux, Ron Russ, Trevor Gaubert, Matt Dennison and Russ Richard.

The family wishes to thank the staff of The Blake Nursing Home and Bridgeway Hospice for their care and compassion. 

Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
