Edna Mire Case Drummond

St. Martinville – A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church for Edna Mire Case Drummond, 98, who passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Rev. Jessie Charpentier will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Edna was born in Bayou Chene to the late Joseph and Eugenie Senaca Mire. She was a longtime and faithful member of Jenkin’s Memorial Baptist Church and was employed with the St. Martin Parish school board for over 20 years. Edna enjoyed baking her Christmas sweets, and was known for her sweet potato pies, pralines, and fudge. She loved celebrating birthdays, listening to old gospel music and spending time with family and friends. Edna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Couvillier; sons, Roy Case and wife Thelma, Mark Case and wife Claudette, Patrick Case Sr. and wife Patricia, and Jerry Case Sr. and wife Nancy; stepdaughter, Bonnie Sue Morgan and spouse Don; sister, Mary Lou Mire; 33 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Mire; mother, Eugenie Senaca Mire; first husband, Samuel Case Sr.; second husband, Bonnie Drummond; children, Lennis Sr., Delores, Rex, Perry Sr., Howard and Samuel Jr. Case; son-in-law, Floyd Couvillier; brothers, Fernest, Mitchell, Herbert and Rudolph Mire; sisters, Rachael Diamond, Mandy Gilchrist, Victoria Pierce, Mae Hanks and Rhelma Lange.
Pallbearers will be Samuel Couvillier, Patrick Case Jr., Gerald Case, Louis Benoit, Mike Case and Matthew Case.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
