Earl Bergeron Sr.

Arnaudville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Earl Bergeron Sr., 77, who passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Opelousas General Hospital.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3 p.m. on Tuesday and continue until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Earl was born in Arnaudville, La. to the late Remi and Beatrice Bertinot Bergeron. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Earl loved listening to music on his front porch, playing Bourré, fishing, going to the casino and the horse races, and growing things in his garden. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Ricky Bergeron and wife Darlene, David Bergeron and wife Amanda, Shane Bergeron and wife Sandra, and Joseph Bergeron Jr.; daughters, Janet Bergeron and Cheryl Taylor and husband Harry; step daughter, Patricia Menard and spouse Kerry; brothers, Edward Bergeron and wife Lois, and Robert Bergeron and wife Bonnie; sisters, Ella Mae Dugas and Betty Tacker and husband Donald; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Joyce” Angelle Bergeron; daughter, Dianna Ber-geron; parents, Remi and Beatrice Bergeron; brothers, Chester, Webster “James” and Roy Bergeron; sister, Annabelle Stelly; and cousin, Lucy Stelly.
Pallbearers will be Travis, Rusty, Joseph Earl Jr., Trevor, Corey and Trent Bergeron.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Taylor and Coty Bergeron.
