Doris G. Latiolais

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Doris G. Latiolais, 95, who passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at her residence.

  Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.

A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Sunday by her sister, Elaine Trahan.

Father Blake Dubroc officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.

Doris was a devout Catholic and a life-long parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, as well as Home Demonstration. Doris enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, and LSU sports. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

  She is survived by her sons, Terry Latiolais (Cheryl) and Kenny C. Latiolais; daughter, Cindy Cormier (Craig); grandchildren, Jared Latiolais (Mary Elizabeth), Jeremy Cormier (Melissa) and Remie Blanchard (Dannah); great-grandchildren, Jackson Cormier, Caroline Cormier, Ethan Blanchard and Isabell Latiolais; sister, Elaine Trahan; and brother, Donald Guidry (Margie).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Claiborne Latiolais; grandson, Brandon Latiolais; parents, Remie and Edaise Collet Guidry; and her brother-in-law, Roosevelt Trahan.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Cormier, Dannah Blanchard, Craig Cormier, Pat Lanaux, Mark Robin and Jake Robin.

Honorary pallbearers were Jared Latiolais, Donald Guidry, Dale Trahan, Jackson Cormier and Ethan Blanchard.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Rose Nedie and Brenda Edmond for their care and compassion given to her, and to Audubon Hospice and their nurses, Heidi, Lynelle, Shawanna and Desiree for attending to her needs.  Also, a very special thank you to her loving and dedicated sister, Elaine Trahan, and her niece, Peggy Robin, for their constant care and attention given to her in her final days; you will always have a very special place in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Brandon Joseph Latiolais Memorial Scholarship Fund College of Science in care of: Louisiana State University, 124 Hatcher Hall, Baton Rouge, LA. 70803.
