Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Dominick Shane Roy Jr., 23, who passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until 100 a.m. on Friday.
A rosary was prayed at 8 a.m. on Friday.
Rev. Joseph Campion officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Christina Bayman and Sharnice Rogers. Gift bearers were Katelyn Johnson and Kelby Hypolite.
Interment followed at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Dominick enjoyed writing, especially his own rap songs, rapping, making beats, and taking care of his brothers and sisters. He cherished moments spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Melissa Noel of Breaux Bridge; paternal grandparents, Wanda and Francis Roy of Breaux Bridge; maternal grandmother, Rena Lastrapes Green of Breaux Bridge; maternal grandfather, Keith Green of Breaux Bridge; brothers, Justie Johnson, Jerome Hamilton Jr., Lanson Hamilton, Kroy Hamilton and Derek Noel, all of Breaux Bridge; sisters, Katelyn Johnson, Kirstin Hamilton, Jerney Hamilton and Endia Hamilton, all of Breaux Bridge; uncles, Devin Jude Roy of Breaux Bridge and Dennis Smith and companion Dorsey Journet of Youngsville; aunts, Melinda Sylvester of Breaux Bridge, Eva Bailey and husband Joseph of Broussard, Marita Smith and companion Matthew Sellers of Breaux Bridge and Vanna Baltazar and companion Tylon Neveu of Breaux Bridge; Godmother, Linda Lastrapes of Breaux Bridge; Godchild, London Noel of Breaux Bridge; fiancée, Troylynn Kiper of Breaux Bridge; fiancée’s mother, Nancy Kiper of Breaux Bridge; fiancée’s two sisters, Trenice and Troylyncia Kiper of Breaux Bridge; fiancée’s brother, Javier Young of Breaux Bridge; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dominick Shane Roy Sr.; brother, Kelsey Johnson; grandfather; Clifton Lastrapes; great-grandmothers, Mildred Noel and Lourella Lastrapes; uncle and godfather, Byron Gerard Roy; uncle, Alton Lastrapes; great-aunt, Rita Mae Robertson; great-uncle, Chris Robertson; and cousins, Genisis Rogers, Hilton Noel, Kelan Hawkins and Terrance Lastrapes.
Pallbearers were Derek Noel, Dennis Smith, Jonathon Joseph, Sadarian Potier, Justie Johnson and Brodie Roy.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
