Dennis J. Albert
Carencro – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at a 2 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Dennis J. Albert, 84, who passed away on Saturday, March 4, 202, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.
Father David M. Rozas, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Albert was a native and lifelong resident of Parks and parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks. He spent over eight years employed with Southern Pacific Railroad becoming self-employed as an Owner/Operator of Trac Work from 1957-1994 from which he later retired.
Dennis was a member of Lake Berard Hunting Club for many years. He enjoyed gardening and loved his grandchildren and will be missed immensely by them all.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Cecile Ann Albert of Parks; his four daughters, Harriet David of Butte LaRose, Helene Landry and her husband Keaton, Fannie Gros and her husband Darel, and Denise Albert, all of Parks; six grandchildren, Casey David and his wife Ana, Danny David and his wife Crystal, Aaron David and his wife Bailey, Bridget Ausbrooks and her husband Steve, Hannah Gros Bourque and her husband Dru, and Hattie Gros and her fiancé Grayson Simon; 12 great-grandchildren, Kylie David, Morgan David, Madisyn David, Crisdany David, Emily David, McKenzie David, Avery Ausbrooks, Evan Ausbrooks, Sawyer David, Owen David, Thomas Bourque and Isabella Gros; one great-great-grandchild, Evelyn David; three brothers, Ramsey Albert and his wife Mary of Catahoula, Roy Albert and his wife Elsie, and Donnel Albert, all of Parks; six sisters, Louella A. Latiolais and her husband Perry, Betty Borel and her husband Clovis, Cheryl A. Boudreaux and her husband Sherman and Laura Albert, all of Parks, Gail A. Blanchard of Coteau Holmes, and Mary Ann A. Richardson and her husband Mike of Avery Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mayo Albert and the former Laura Theriot; and three sisters, Sandra A. Borel, Priscilla A. Hulin and Patricia Albert.
A rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and will continue until service time on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Casey David, Danny David, Aaron David, Darel Gros, Keaton Landry and Donnel Albert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grayson Simon, Dru Bourque, Steve Ausbrooks, Hannah Bourque, Hattie Gros and Bridget Ausbrooks.
