Cynthia Laviolette Blanchard

Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2019, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula for Cynthia Laviolette Blanchard, 66, who passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019.
Visiting hours were observed at Dion Hall from 4 p.m. on Wednesday and continued until 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Fr. Bill Melancon officiated at the Funeral Mass. The readers were Ruth Jeter and Samantha Bourque. Gift bearers were her grandchildren.
Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Cynthia enjoyed going to the casino, making jewelry and rosaries, and having coffee with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Allen “Bert” Blanchard and wife Crystal of Catahoula; daughters, Joan Blanchard and companion Donney LeBlanc of Catahoula, and Latisha Granger and husband Orie of St. Martinville; brothers, Carroll Laviolette and wife Tina of Parks and Alvon “Al” Laviolette Jr. and wife Lori of Henderson; sister, Cheryl Latiolais and husband Clay of Catahoula; grandchildren, Madison Reed and spouse Bob, Bethanie Doucet, Ashlyn Champagne, Owen Granger, Logan Granger and Avyn Blanchard; and a great-grandchild, Piper Reed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen “Albert” Blanchard; her parents, Alvon and Verna Landry Laviolette; a sister, Gloria Laviolette; and brother, Kenneth Laviolette.
Pallbearers were Wilton Walker, Collin “Bob” Reed, Donney LeBlanc, Michael Morvant, Ronald Daigle Sr. and Charles “Chuck” Blanchard Jr.
The family would like to extend their thanks to her caregivers, especially Kyle Richard and Brianna Graffagnino, for the wonderful care given to her.
