Curtis Joseph LeBlanc

Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service was held at 12 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel for Curtis Joseph LeBlanc, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Avanti Assisted Living.

A visitation took place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the funeral service. Reader was Michelle LeBlanc. 

Entombment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery #2.

Curtis Joseph LeBlanc, beloved husband, brother and friend, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the age of 82. Born on November 10, 1940, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Curtis was a dedicated individual who left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him.

Curtis grew up in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. After attending high school, he enlisted in the United States Army on June 6, 1959, proudly serving his country for eight years until his honorable discharge on May 7, 1967.

After his military service, Curtis embarked on a successful career. He spent many years working as a machinist for the City of Lafayette, displaying his exceptional skill and dedication. He also worked at Himel Motor Supply and the Distribution Center in New Orleans before retiring.

After retirement, Curtis and his loving wife, Joyce, invested in rental properties which Curtis managed with great efficiency.

Beyond his professional achievements, Curtis had a passion for gardening. Known for his green thumb, he took great joy in cultivating his garden and sharing its fruits with his family and friends. Curtis’s kindness and generosity were evident in his willingness to share the bounty of his harvest.

Curtis also had a deep love for Cajun music. His wife, Joyce, gifted him an accordion, which he played with great enthusiasm. The couple would often attend festivals, capturing precious memories by taking scenic pictures with their beloved puppies. Curtis held a special place in his heart for his loyal companions, Bandy and Frosty recognizing the unwavering bond shared between a man and his furry friends.

Throughout their lives together, Curtis and Joyce celebrated more than five decades of marriage, marking their 52nd anniversary on February 17, 2020. They enjoyed countless adventures, traveling with tour groups and creating cherished memories along the way.

He is survived by his brother, Elton LeBlanc; his sister, Edith LeBlanc; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Jacques LeBlanc; parents, Willis and Marie Allemand LeBlanc; maternal grandparents, Bernard and Odille Blanchard Allemand; and his paternal grandparents, Valsin and Honore Melancon LeBlanc.

Pallbearers were Marty LeBlanc, Jackson LeBlanc, Jonah LeBlanc, Todd Melancon, Stoney Castille and Bill Lucas.     

Honorary pallbearer was Paul Duncan.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Paul, Clara, Stacy, April, Albert, Lumas, Tonia and Tanya for the care and compassion that was given to Mr. LeBlanc.  

Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
