Cornell J. Boudreaux

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Cornel J. Boudreaux, 65, who passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Ochsner Foundation in New Orleans.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continued on Wednesday from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Rev. Stephen Pellessier officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Cheryl Boudreaux and Blair Bernard. Gift bearers were Nicole Guidry, Lynsey Peltier, Noah Peltier and Evan Peltier.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Cornel was born in Breaux Bridge to the late Voorhies and Rochelle Angelle Boudreaux. He was employed by Acme Truck Line for eight years. Cornel was a faithful parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and an Usher. Cornel was a long-time member and Treasurer of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed staying physically fit at Red Lerille’s Health Club.
Cornel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He always had a smile on his face and took pride in everything he did. Cornel never met a stranger and was always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed. He enjoyed washing cars, no matter what the weather permitted, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his two precious grandsons.
Cornel will be remembered for his kind and generous heart; he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 45 years, Bonnie Huval Boudreaux; son, Miles Boudreaux and wife Cheryl; two daughters, Nicole Guidry and husband Shannon, and Lynsey Peltier and husband Jude; two grandchildren, Noah and Evan Peltier; four brothers, Dale Boudreaux (Jackie), Kenneth Boudreaux (Lisa), Daryl Boudreaux (Charlie) and Robert Boudreaux (Charlene); sister, Charlene Louviere (Rodney); godchildren, Blair Bernard and Kurry Huval; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Voorhies Joseph Boudreaux, and mother, Rochelle Angelle Boudreaux.
Pallbearers were Miles Boudreaux, Dale Boudreaux, Kenneth Boudreaux, Daryl Boudreaux, Shannon Guidry and Jude Peltier.
Honorary pallbearers were Noah and Evan Peltier, Robert Boudreaux, Rodney Louviere and Kurry Huval.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
