Celina Marie Melancon

Catahoula  – A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery for Celina Marie Melancon, 92, who passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020, at St. Martin Hospital.
Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Graveside Service.
Celina and her husband were the owners of their bait shop for many years, which is still in operation today and is run by family members. She loved working in her yard, attending Mass on Sunday, and spending time with her family and friends, but most of all, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a kind, loveable and hard-working lady and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara LaGrange and her husband Harold of St. Martinville; son, Russell Melancon and companion Alzada Harrington of Butte LaRose; daughter-in-law, Sheila Melancon and companion Keith Stansbury of Catahoula; sister, Felicine L. Allemond of Butte LaRose; grandchildren, Julie Laviolette (Donnie), Michael LaGrange (Carolyn), Joshua Melancon (Dana) and Jeremy Melancon (Naomi); step-grandchild, Hunter Harrington and companion Makayla Castille; great-grandchildren, Tori Laviolette, Landon Laviolette, Conley Melancon, Jenae Melancon, Celina Melancon, Bryson Melancon, Aiden Melancon and Owen LaGrange; and step great-grandchild, Ava Harrington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ernest Melancon; parents, Aurelien and Julia Barras Latiolais; sisters, Margaret Hebert, Estelle Talley and Amanda Thibodeaux; and brothers, Vincent Latiolais and Almicar Latiolais.
