Betty T. Borel

St. Martinville – A Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church for Betty T. Borel, 87, who passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021, at her residence.

Visiting hours were observed at Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday.

Pastor Jessie Charpentier officiated at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at the Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Betty was a clerk at Martin Mills for over 20 years. After Martin Mills closed, she worked in the genealogy department at the library. Betty was a very active member of Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church. She served as a church secretary, clerk, member of the choir, and vacation bible school. Betty was strong in her faith and loved to spread her love for the Lord. 

Betty loved her family, and she loved her church. She was always surrounded by children, where that be her own or others. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her sons, Kirk Borel (Rebecca) and Burt Borel (Tammy); daughter, Joni B. Bienvenu; grandchildren, Courtney LeGrand (Codi), Clay Borel (Meagan), Kayla Hebert (Brandon), Myra Gulotta (Cameron) and Brooke Kaufman; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Borel, Cameron LeGrand, Ayden Hebert and Aubree Hebert.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carol J. Borel; grandchild, Beth Borel; parents, Anthony Pierre Theriot and Lena Davis Theriot; brothers, Edward Theriot and Pete Theriot; and sister, infant Stella Marie Theriot. 

Pallbearers were Clay Borel, Ayden Hebert, Codi LeGrand, Cameron Gulotta, Brady Theriot and Brody Theriot.

Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
