Barbara LaGrange

Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Barbara LaGrange, 71, who passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at her residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall, 4452 Catahoula Hwy. (Hwy. 96), Catahoula, LA 70582, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The reader will be Sheila Melancon. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Barbara was born October 31, 1949. She was part owner of Melancon Bait Shop in Catahoula for over 40 years. She thoroughly enjoyed working at the bait shop and providing supplies and good conversation to the local fishermen. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished her time with her grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her family and the community.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Harold LaGrange; son, Michael LaGrange (Carolyn); daughter, Julie Laviolette (Donnie); three grandchildren, Tori Laviolette, Landon Laviolette and Owen LaGrange; brother, Russell Melancon (Alzada Harrington); and sister in-law, Sheila Melancon (Keith Stansbury).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Ernest and Celina Latiolais Melancon.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Laviolette, Michael LaGrange, Landon Laviolette, Joshua Melancon, Jeremey Melancon and Jimmy LaGrange..
