Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Andre’ Jacob Goodyear, 22, who passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8 am until 1:30 p.m.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
André Goodyear was born May 27, 1995, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. He attended grade school in Parks and later graduated from Breaux Bridge High School. Most recently, he attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette studying business management. André was involved in the St. Martin Parish 4-H Program competing in District and State level contests. During the summers, he worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor in St. Martinville. André always had a bright, beautiful smile and loved spending time with his friends and family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Bob Allen and April Goodyear of Breaux Bridge; his brother, Alex Goodyear of Breaux Bridge; his maternal grandparents, Curtis and Mickie Castille of Breaux Bridge; his paternal grandparents, Barney and Merle Bernard of New Iberia; and his paternal grandparents, Mary Ann and Bob Goodyear Sr. of New Roads.
He was preceded in death by his great grandmothers, Lula Mae Picheloup Bakos, Eva Robert Castille and Rosemary Bernard; and great grandfather, Collins Castille.
