She was born on October 20, 1955, in Arnaudville, Louisiana, to the late Murphy Hardy and the former Lumina Angelle, both natives of Arnaudville.
Karen grew up in Arnaudville. After marrying Leonard Huval, she made her home in Lafayette and attended Spencer Business College. Their children, Carl and Dayna, were born there. After Leonard’s death, when the children were still very young, she moved to Cecilia. There she married Paul Chandler, and together they raised Carl and Dayna. She devoted herself to her home and family while her children were growing up, and later worked at Stuller in Lafayette for twenty years. In her later years, she married Mark Judice, and they shared five years of marriage before his passing.
A devout Catholic, Karen was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia. She was a dedicated and supportive mother and a loving grandmother who treasured every visit with her grandchildren. She loved cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. To her nieces and nephews, she was affectionately known as “Kay Kay.”
She is survived by her son, Carl Huval, and his wife, Colleen; her daughter, Dayna Price, and her husband, Justin; her grandchildren, Jude Huval, Renee Huval, and Elliott Price; her sister, Judy H. Broussard (Allen) of Breaux Bridge; her brothers, Lee Ray Hardy and Luke Hardy, both of Arnaudville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murphy and Lumina Hardy; her husbands, Leonard Huval, Paul Chandler, and Mark Judice; and her brother, Daryl J. Hardy, Sr.
