St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church to honor the life of Adez Champagne Breaux, 100, who passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at her residence.

A visitation took place at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville.

A Rosary was prayed by the Sisters at the Heart of Jesus.

Father Jude Halphen will officiated at the Funeral Mass. Reader was Michelle Bienvenu. Interment will followed at St. Michael Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Martinville.

A devout Catholic, Adez was an active and faithful parishioner at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Her spirituality was evident in her many roles within the church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, a devoted member of the Altar Society, and an enthusiastic participant in the Legion of Mary. She spent countless hours in prayer and devotion at the Adoration Chapel, exemplifying a life steeped in faith and compassion.

Adez dedicated 41 years of her life to the Clerk of Court’s office, where she showed dedication and integrity, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the community. Beyond her professional pursuits, she found immense joy in her passion for gardening, proudly winning the title of “Garden of the Month.” Her vibrant gardens were a reflection of her nurturing spirit and a testament to her love for nature.

As we remember Adez, let us reflect on her unwavering faith, her selfless service to others, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Philip Cypriano (Sommer) and Tricia Brasseur (Daryl); great-grandchildren, Jake Cypriano, Grace Braquet, Hannah Guidry and Tyler Guidry; nephews, Hobson Champagne (Joyce), Leed Champagne, Jr., Father Jude Halphen and James Halphen; nieces, Jacqueline “Jackie” LeBlanc (Francis) and Mildred LeBlanc (Rick); and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Breaux; daughter, Patricia Anne Breaux Cypriano; parents, Hobson and Telcelia Champagne; brother, Leed Champagne; and sister, Eula C. Halphen.

Pallbearers were Philip Cypriano, Jake Cypriano, Hobson Champagne, Jack Bienvenu, Shane Guilbeau and Toby Breaux.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers and to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana for taking great care of her.
