Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Philip D. Decoux, 76, who passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Breaux Bridge.

Visitation took place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6.

A Rosary was prayed at on Friday evening by the Men’s Rosary Group of New Iberia.

Father Bill Melancon officiated at the Funeral Mass. Burial followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

Philip was a quiet man who showed what he valued by his actions. He worked hard to provide for the family he loved. He shared generously with the people he met, and it gained him lasting friends who shared their lives and talents in return.

His work offshore was technical and demanded attention to detail. He handled his work with quiet precision.

Philip loved the basin and when he worked to raise his crawfish traps, he found as much to enjoy as when he relaxed to share his catch with friends. And as much as he enjoyed the quiet solitude of the basin, he also relaxed on a noisy motorcycle or driving a camper cross-country on a busy interstate.

His quiet strength and authentic confidence in the values he held will be missed. His memory is a blessing.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith “Judy” E. Decoux; son, Mark Decoux and his wife, Rachel Dowden Decoux; daughter, Rachel Decoux Aguillard and her husband, Bryant Aguillard; granddaughter and godchild, Blythe Ann Aguillard; grandson, Sylas Andrew Aguillard; brothers, Albert Decoux (Linda) and Alfred Decoux (Jennifer); and sisters, Kathryn Latiolais and Patsy Millet (Terry).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ned Decoux and Doris Oubre Decoux; brotherin- law, Raleigh Latiolais; and niece, Donna Latiolais.

Pallbearers were Mark Decoux, Bryant Aguillard, Albert Decoux, Alfred Decoux, Phil Landry and Moe Gourrier.

Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) was in charge of arrangements.
